Dear Alhambra,

A problem, something that works, an idea, or a question. The pothole that never gets filled, the corner nobody stops at, the neighbor who keeps the block together, the thing you'd ask if a candidate knocked on your door tonight. Plain words are best, and you don't need to have the solution.

Write in whatever language you think in. Letters in Chinese or Spanish count exactly the same. I'll translate them and sort them with the rest.

This helps decide whether a live session is worth holding. Written answers happen either way.

I use this once, to confirm you live in District 1 and which part of it you're in. After that it stays private: never shared with anyone, including the candidates, and never published.

Here is what happens next. Your letter joins the others, sorted by area and topic. The concerns that come up most often become the questions both candidates answer, worded identically for each, and the good things get passed along too. After the election the sorted letters, with names removed, go to whoever won. Your name stays off everything unless you tell me otherwise, and nothing you write here is handed to any campaign before then.
